[Pro] Emailing an HTML Page

I’ve followed all the guidelines and have my HTML page with absolute links up ready on the server. Question is how do I now email it via both Thunderbird and via Outlook. I do not want to use a third party such as Mailchimp. Is this explained anywhere?

How many people do you want to send it to? The reason why you would want to use MailChimp (which is free for a staggering number of messages per month) is because they have done all the hard server-side work to ensure that your message is delivered. Spam is such a rampant problem today that many or most ISPs and individual users have established huge crocodile-infested moats to keep it out. If you send a message to a list in any of the “old-school” ways (BCC everyone on your list, send it out to yourself) you will almost certainly trip some of those wires. Best case, your message just won’t be delivered. But worst case, you will be blacklisted as a spammer and not be able to send ANY mail to anyone until you clear that up (can take months, and require DNA samples and other humiliations). Let Freddy (the MailChimp mascot) take care of this for you, you won’t be sorry.
