I’m using the classic, David. I haven’t messed with the newer version of Pulse yet.

Walter, I had to switch my page over to .php to make Pulse work. So my guess is the anwer to you question is “no” to the RSS feed. But thanks for the idea.

Now that I know where to find it, I’m going to give the Pulse addon a try. Thanks for the link, David.

In Pulse 4+ the recent posts functionality became a super block which you can add to Pulse and then embed into another page or block.

See the bottom of this page;

One of the best features of this new version of Pulse is it now supports custom Pule Tags. Essentially these are just like simple plug-ins that can be embedded into a page or block using a simple short code. If you ever used short codes in WordPress then you’ll know how powerful these can be.

I’ve created a number of plugins for Pulse including a recent posts plug-in which does pretty much what the super block does but as a plug-in;

You can find the full list of plug-ins here;

Tim.

Hi Doty, I think the BMS site was done while the ‘recent posts’ afacility was integrated, but as David and others have said, it is now an addon.

I too have not used Pulse 4 yet as my understanding is that it is only available as a complete templated package and therefore not easy to integrate into Freeway. Has anyone else had any experience of this?

Thanks

Mark

Hey David,

I’d like to have a “latest blogs” section (as mentioned above) on my pulse blog and the link you shared is 404 on the the pulse site. When I asked the guys at Pulse they said it wasn’t a feature they offered. Mark – how did you do this??

Thanks!

Doty

It used to. It appears it is an add-on now.

Pulse 4 is less of a ‘bolt on’ CMS where you can define areas of the site that you want a client to have access to but more of a templated solution where you define one or more page templates that can be used throughout the site. Both systems have their pros and cons (you can easily add new pages in Pulse 4 for example but converting a Freeway page is a little more involved) so choose the version of the CMS based on your expected uses.

Tim.
