[Pro] Export items in Styles Palette

Is there a possibility to export the styles from the Styles Palette? I see there’s an import function, but would be great if I could migrate or share the styles from one document to another without constantly having to re-enter them.

All you need to do is save your source document in Freeway (so that all recent changes are committed back to the file), and then from the next document where you want to use them, import from the original document. You will get an option to include all or some of the stylesheets in that source document, if I recall correctly.

This is super easy – you import stylesheets directly from other Freeway
documents!

I do this a lot, so let me say that it’s straight-forward but not
trouble-free… From the Style Editor of the target document (the receiver of
styles) choose Import from the bottom gear, then select which file you wish
to import. You can even select previous version documents if you’ve
upgraded recently. Freeway will import that document’s styles in a separate
style sheet.

At this point I will say that Freeway has always been crashy for me when
I’ve done this, so the following step is how I handle this part-- but is
not “official” in any sense of the word.

After the new style sheet is imported, while still in the Style Editor,
move the specific individual styles from the imported sheet the native
sheet of that document. Just drag them over and verify they made it. When
that is done, delete the imported style sheet and then close the Style
Editor. IF FREEWAY DOESN’T IMMEDIATELY CRASH, then press command-s to save
the document. Done.

Thanks guys! I was so fed up with entering everything again for new documents and this sounds like a more or less workable solution (as long as the program doesn’t crash).

Have a great weekend!

…fed up with entering everything again for new documents…

You may also look at making your own templates… when you make a new
document, you can choose from some pre-made templates-- to which you can
add your own custom made ones already loaded with your favorite styles,
images, layouts, etc.

I make my templates as regular Freeway files. Every time I update the file,
I save it normally and then save it as a template, overwriting the old
template. Next time I make a new document with that template, the new file
has the updates.
