[Pro] Express Engine, WebYep or Mini CMS

Need to add a content management program that will work in FW. Can anyone suggest which product would work best? I basically need to let clients (9 or so) add copy, photos and to make links. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. We have a Windows server, but have access to another that is Unix based.

This is very subjective. It very much depends on how much time/energy you want to spend setting up your FW doc.

If you just want to add updateable sections then Pulse CMS http://pulsecms.com/ is easy to integrate into FW and is also FREE . But if you want more ie create menus, new pages etc then you will need something more heavyweight.

And as long as your Windows server runs PHP properly then most CMS systems will work fine.

I think one of the primary differences lies in what do you need to do. Do you need to update a set number of pages, or will you (or the client) be adding pages?

Adding pages could mean articles, products, classes, etc. This level of changes is more suited to a more powerful CMS like ExpressionEngine. See this site for an example of the kind of client-updatable content EE is good for. There are just a few template pages, but the end user sees many content pages.

OTOH, if the site will be a set number of pages and there are just some areas on some or all pages that will need to be updatable, a smaller CMS such as WebYep or mini CMS may be all you need.

There is some crossover. EE can be used for a simpler project like this, and vice versa to a degree.

Thanks for the quick response. I’m leaning to WebYep simply because it seems very user friendly and I don’t want the contributors to have too much design freedom or they’ll go crazy. If it doesn’t work for our needs, perhaps EE
