[Pro] Facebook feed blank

Hi, small problem I look after 3 children’s nurseries sites looking corporate and similar in their application. The facebook feed has suddenly stopped showing on the home/news pages of 2 of the nurseries but is fine on one. Can anyone advise please. The first one Greenbank is working and the House and Cottage not happening.

Thanks Dave but how do I resolve this issue, they have been fine for a while now and I’ve not touched them since I set them up so how come this is happening now? I would like to know more just so I know where I’m going wrong in the future.
Thanks

Looks like you just need to change the link in the Action from Redirecting... to Redirecting... (and the same for the other page).

Hi Joe,
I have tried changing this on all 3 sites and still a no go. I have started again inserting the facebook action and I can see it fine but the client still can’t! Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

The first step in debugging a feature like this is to break it down to the simplest thing that will fail.

Make a new page, add only the Facebook feature to it, no other elements. See if that works. Then start adding things from the original page back to your new page. Test after each additional element. See where it breaks.

If it isn’t clear to you why it broke, then back off one step (to the last point that it worked) and then duplicate the page and add the next element. Publish both of them, so we can compare yoursite.com/test/works.html and yoursite.com/test/broken.html side-by-side. Post a link to both pages here, and one or another of us can inspect it with a JavaScript debugger.

It’s not likely that the issue is completely with Facebook, your account, or Action. It’s more likely a subtle interaction between two elements that were never designed to meet each other.

Thanks, I will give this a go in the morning, I’m sure this will help with my understanding of freeway more, sometimes when I struggle with an issue I ask on here and someone nine times out ten has the answer, but lots of times I haven’t totally understood fully what went wrong, and if im ever going to master freeway i have dig deeper, thanks Walt i will keep you posted!

I have tried re-building the page with the facebook feed on starting with the facebook like box and I was going to ad all the other page elements until I found the clitch - but it now can’t even see the feed at all now. It’s completely baffling, I’m only having this problem with the house and the cottage nurseries, greenbank is fine with no issues. All 3 have been done in the same way. Is there anything I can do as the client is not very happy. It doesn’t help that I can’t give them a reason for this happening. Should I contact facebook?

Ok, I think I’ve pinpointed the problem down to the fact that you need to be logged in to Facebook to see the feed. When I log out of Facebook it disappears and when I log in again it reappears. Here’s some info from Facebook which should help:

"Why can’t I see my Page when I’m logged out of Facebook?
If your Page has any age or country restrictions, you won’t be able to see it when you’re logged out of your account.

To see a Page when you’re logged out of Facebook, remove all age and country restrictions:

• Log into your account and go to your Page
• From the top of the Page, click Edit Page
• Select Edit Settings
• Make sure nothing is entered in the Country Restrictions section and selectAnyone (13+) for Age Restrictions
• Click Save Changes

You’re reading the Desktop Help answer. Learn more in our other Help Centers."

If it doesn’t then you’ll need to contact Facebook to find out if there’s anything else that might be causing that to happen.

Hi

I been trying to use the Facebook action for almost 2 days now and I keep getting the same message “No recent activity to display”. The thing is that if I try anything from www.coca-cola.com, www. apple.com, www.chrysler.com…etc. everything works perfectly… so I rally don’t know what else to do.

Since the Facebook action is not working I can not upload the site so they still have their owen wordpress site online: www.owenflooring.ca

The clients Facebook address is https://www.facebook.com/OwenFlooring and it works perfectly with his wordpress generated site and their own plugging but not with the Freeway Pro generated site.

Please help me find a solution to this issue, because I have two other clients that will end having the same basic design and therefore will most probably have the same issue.

thanks

I’m having the same issue. What I don’t know is what to put in the action ti point to the facebook page.

You put a “domain” in the action - but how does this equate to a facebook page? Where do you put the “OwenFlooring” in your example?

I am having the same issue as PJL, Thane and Simon. Wonder if there has been a solution found? If so then would it be possible to share it at all?

Dont do https and make sure the box is big enough, if the box is big enough, it will not show up. Also, make sure that the box is actually shown on the page. In the “site” part of “page” in sidebar, make sure the element is being shown

I am trying to feed a facebook page to the item but when I try to specify the page then the only part of the address which is accepted is www.facebook.com. I cannot specify the full address for the page therefore I cannot see how this will work.
I have also tried to use an iframe with the url of the facebook page link as well but to know avail.

I don’t quite understand this part, “make sure the box is big enough, if the box is big enough, it will not show up.”

Sorry for confusion. I have seen where if the fb like box is too small, it won’t be displayed at all.

When i use this action, I just used Facebook Like Box, instead of anything else and had no trouble at all.

Seems to be trouble with the activity action amongst all social media.
