[Pro] Facebook feed blank

I think the sentence was supposed to read “if the box is NOT big enough,
it will not show up.”

Thanks for that thatkeith.
I guess what I am looking for is a way to display a feed of facebook or even a facebook page as part of an existing website so that users of the website can see facebook activity.

I had hoped that the action would do this but I cannot see how this functions.
Many of the points have been raised as to the issues:
-how do you specify the actual facebook address?
-should you use the https://
-should the action box be a specific size
-do users need to be logged into a facebook page before a feed will show in the action box?
-why does it not work with facebook pages which are publicly accessible?
-Is there another way to achieve what I am looking for without having recourse to the action?

I am intrigued as to how we can move this on at all?

All the best for now

Anthony

You can use a facebook icon and have it link to another window with your facebook link

Hi Anthony,

The Facebook Actions are all direct mappings of the widgets that Facebook provide. I’ll try and answer your questions below.

Many of the points have been raised as to the issues:
-how do you specify the actual facebook address?

The Activity feed reports the activity on an entire domain, not a Facebook Page. For example, how many people have liked or shared a particular page on your site. If you want a way to show what’s happening on your Facebook Page then you need to use the Facebook Like Box Action.

-should you use the https://

If your page can be served over https then you should, yes.

-should the action box be a specific size

Each of the widget types are different sizes and will display or not display certain things at different sizes. The thing to do is try them out at different sizes to see what works for what you are trying to achieve.

-do users need to be logged into a facebook page before a feed will show in the action box?

I don’t think so. The only thing logging in will do is show any information about their friends.

-why does it not work with facebook pages which are publicly accessible?
-Is there another way to achieve what I am looking for without having recourse to the action?

See above.

Hope this helps,
Joe

I read through all of this, and am still confused.

My question: In the Facebook Activity Feed Action palette, do I put my website domain or the FB address? i.e., Central Florida Center for Spiritual Living ?
If I’m to put the website domain, how does it know how to find the right Facebook page?
Thank you,
Laura

Facebook feed should be your Facebook link which is the one you posted in your latest response

Okay, now the website is live, I put the full FB domain address in the Facebook Activity Feed action, and it still reads “No recent activity to display.” Just how recent does the activity need to be?

Website is http://cslorlando.org/

Thanks for any help,
Laura

Never mind.
I used the Facebook Like Box instead and that works.
I don’t understand what’s the difference, but this suits our purpose.

Hi Laura,

Like Box is for a Facebook Page and Activity Feed is for a custom domain page.

Hope this helps,
Joe
