Hi All. I’m new to all this. I have just about finished my website. Just making cosmetic changes now and wanted to put in a facebook icon so when people click on it it would take them to my facebook page. I have tried to find the instructions in the manual, online and tried to work it out myself by doing a hyperlink>external but no luck. I must be typing something wrong somewhere. Can anyone help please?
Thankyou.
Select your facebook grapic and goto Edit > Hyperlink and at the top it shows Internal and External. Choose External and where it says Protocol, click and select http:// you can then paste (or type) in your www url

Hi BigG. Thank you for your reply. I’m afraid to say it didn’t work…I must be typing the wrong http url and not sure where to find the info for it…This is what I tried:
I’m not sure what else to try…
I’m sure I sound like a dumb newbie, sorry…

Thank you soooo much Nathan. I now have a successful link to my facebook page. That worked a treat.
I feel really silly for not being able to work out something as simple as that.
Looking around for same issue as original poster on this thread. I understand how to make the link, but how do I get the Facebook graphic?
Thanks.

Well, that’s easy enough. I just assumed there are trademark issues, and that you have to go through Facebook to get one (and their website for that kind of info isn’t very user-friendly for idiots like me).

They would like you to go through their system so they can inject a
bunch of JavaScript into your site that allows them to essentially spy
on your visitors. It’s right up there with giving them the password to
your Google Analytics account. Not only do they learn more about your
visitors than they will ever share with you, they also learn more
about you, and don’t pay you for that information or do an adequate
job of disclosing it to you before they do. Quite a neat trick they’ve
pulled over on the Web.

Yeah, I definitely want to avoid that. Thanks for the simple explanation. Now I know what to do… and NOT do!

I think I would like to replace facebooks links with a linked image (many fb images on flicker). Will Freeway omit said javascript when republishing the pages in question?
Thanks

If you simply place a raw FB image on your page (from flickr or whatever) and create your own link in FW then there is no FB javascript. Remember to remove the FB generated stuff you already have.
