There ae several ways to do this. - my choice would probably be Sequence Timer action in conjunction with Target show/hide layers action.

ScriptyFader action is another possibility.

Have you an example of what you are trying to achieve so we can better guide you.

Hi Dave what I want to achieve is maybe 3 large words that scroll across my page in different style fonts. Take a look at; http://www.formoda.co.uk/

So not fade?

On the page that you link to I dont see any animation - but that may be because I can only view on my phone just now.

Does it have to be html text? Here is one with an image.

And not forgetting the WebTicker action for html text.

Our dear old friend Move Layer Action – I think it’s from FW2 or something like that.

Yes - there are many different ways of doing this but I would be asking myself ‘what does it add to my page/site?’ especially if not done nicely.

Yes David would have to be as good as the example http://www.formoda.co.uk/ and yes I have asked myself ‘what does it add to my page/site?’

This animation example is a flash - and therefor not really suited for all apple mobile devices (and my safari falls into the energy-safe sleep’n stop mode :-).

If you really need this, I could think of a Hype animation (perhaps).

Thank you Thomas - so what is a Hype animation?

Hi Simon,

Tumult Hype’s keyframe-based animation system … but read yourself:

I personally never tried it cause I’m not on the bling bling trip, but it is off flash with the increasing chance of (modern) cross-browser compatibility (perhaps).

Cheers

3 large words that scroll across.

Now that I see this with a desktop browser it all becomes clear - this is not text scrolling across at all - so you can ignore all my previous suggestions.

The view on iOS is quite different and as Thomas points out this particular example is pure Flash. Not what you want!

I tend to agree that something like Hype may be the way to go - if you really want something like this.

Difficult to achieve wide browser support with other methods.

Hi Guys I have had a look at Hype and it’s scared me off the idea! Perhaps as David said ‘is really that important…’

Here is a quick example that uses some javascript to print the text and css to style it http://www.deltadesign.co/FW6Test/typetext.html

This doesn’t give you a different font for each word but I suppose that might be doable.

Hi David - that would do the job! - How did you do it?

When I get a minute I will add to the demo page http://www.deltadesign.co/FW6Test/typetext.html with a download link for a FW6Pro doc and some instructions.
