[Pro] fading images

Hi all, could anyone tell me the best way to achieve the following:

an initial picture on page load which fades into another, then another and then back to the first to repeat over and over again.

I realise this could be done with an animated gif, but the picture quality is quite important in this case.

Many thanks in advance

Try the sequence timer action.
http://actionsforge.com/actions/view/186-sequence-timer

If you place all your required images in position on your page as layers - one above another and apply the Target Show/Hide Layer action to each image - making sure each has a different Target # (this can be changed in the actions pallet).

Then apply the Sequence Timer action to the page and select each Trigger.

Give it a go and see if my instructions make sense.

Or, if you are using the lates version of FW, you can use the Showcase Gallery/Slideshow action.

Hi Nathan (and anyone else who’s looking at this). Thanks, your
suggestion basically worked but I have a couple of problems with it
and don’t know how to fix them.

If you go to: http://www.trevreav.co.uk/STTEST you’ll see that image 1
is up there for a split second, then fades and returns, any idea why
it disappears?

And between Rollover 1 and Rollover 2, the initial first image
reappears, I would somehow like them just to play in sequence without
image 1 appearing between the second 2 images.

But it’s getting there!

Trev,

Select each one of your images and goto your actions pallet and try these settings:

Initially : Hidden
Restore : Sticky
Effect : Fade
