[Pro] Favicon Action Broken?

Does the Favicon Action work with Freeway Pro 5.6.5? I can get it to work on a page level, but not a folder level. I’ve tried both the ActionForge version, as well as Tim Plumb’s version.

Have you uploaded your site? i.e, not previewing it locally? I believe it only displays when uploaded.

Neil.

Neil, I can’t even get to that point. When I try to apply the Favicon action to a folder, the action doesn’t get added so there’s no way to even attach an .ico file

At what point does it fail? I’ve just tried adding the action to my site folder in the in the left hand column (select the folder, go to Page / Folder Actions / Favicon, apply the action, select the ico file and it seemed OK? I know what’s not much help to you but could you let us know at which stage of that process it’s failing?

Neil.

Yep, that was my problem. I was selecting Page > Page Actions instead of Page > Folder Actions. I hadn’t use that action in a long time, which is why I forgot the process.

That’s also one of my pet peaves with Freeway Pro. Too many ways to select an action and not all of them are consistent. Very confusing if you ask me.

BTW, which Favicon action is better, the on the ActionForge site or Tim’s?

Thanks for your help Neil.

The one on ActionsForge was put together (by me) in a half-hour while Tim was out of town and his site was broken. I would say his is going to have more bells and whistles.

They should be exactly the same - I tend to like the one on my site the best…

I forget – did you update the one on ActionsForge to be your latest version?

Hi Walter,
I’m getting everyone confused here. I thought the one on the Forge was a dupe of my original Action. It is not. I can certainly upload a copy of mine (http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=005) but to be honest there is very little between them (the addition of an animated icon for example).
Regards,
Tim.

I believe it’s the one I wrote while you were on vacation:

As I recall, it took me moments, and was designed to do the least possible thing that could actually work.
