[Pro] File names

Hi chaps, I created a test gallery in Exhibeo, I dragged the images in without bothering to name them (they’re IMG1 etc) can I rename them in Freeway or should I do it in the finder and reload them ? … also where should I add the alt name please.

Also is there a requirement to use “-” or “_” in file names ?

Thanks as ever for the help.

Roger

You need to alter the original file and you can use both, underscore and dash (with a lil tendency to underscore perhaps).

Title and Caption (alt text) can be reached by clicking the little multiple squares symbol at the bottom of Exhibeo and then ether double-click the image (or the image icon appearing on hover).

A word for implementing:

I am not sure who advised you using iFrames, cause I see no need for this. You can use the exported file natively in Freeway.

Start to think using Relative Page Layout action, cause the way you placed your items is - let’s say - adventurous.

You once said something like:

Unfortunately … can’t be tailored …

Nearby everything CAN be tailored - all you need is needle and thread and probably a pattern.

Thanks Thomas, yet again for your very valuable contribution, I used iFrame because I wanted to lose the navigation arrows and the row of buttons so I created a page in my Freeway project and added a few solids (to mask out these elements) … probably totally wrong but the only way I could see of achieving my objectives, your recommendations will be well received as I want the site to be as clean and compliant as possible.

As for titles and alt text (description in Exhibeo) they’re also (of course) added to the viewport which I don’t want and also the description doesn’t seem to have generated the alt text (if I’m looking in the correct place using ‘Source Code Snooper’).

I’ll look into ‘Relative Page Layout’ as well thank you.

If you publish a link to a non-iframe page embedding the Exhibeo content, one of us can probably give you a few lines of CSS to hide anything you want. Put the thing in a single flat page, then write up what you want to disappear. It’s generally very straightforward to apply display:none or visibility:hidden to something and have it gone.

Thanks Walter, good of you, though if you are able to give me a ‘hint’ I’m really happy to try it myself, will I find it if I look in ‘Source Code Snooper’ ?

… here’s the page

Tell me what of this you would like to hide. You won’t need SCS for this, it’s just a matter of adding some CSS to your page, usually you just use Freeway’s Page / HTML Markup dialog in the Before section.

I think it is both steering items which could end up in a string into the before end head-Tag of the page like this:
