I’m having difficulty with the find / replace function in Freeway Pro version 6. Every time try to use it, the application shuts down and I get a “Freeway Pro quit unexpectedly” error message. I’ve tried multiple times, and get the same message whether I use “find” or “replace”.
Is this a known problem, or just a problem on my system? I’m using a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.2.

Not surprising if the find/replace crashes too as it is notoriously slow and inefficient at the best of times.
Wiser heads than mine will advise, but I suspect it is the file not the system. Try creating a brand new document with nothing but a few words on a blank page and search in that.
Someone else had a problem like this recently and it turned out to be a bad character on one of the pages. Can you send your document to support(a)softpress.com for our developers to look at please? Just so you know, it’s a long weekend for Easter here in the UK so they may not get a chance to look at it till Tuesday next week.

Switch to each page in the document by clicking on it. It’s very important that you switch to every page, just in case there are many pages which will cause the crash to occur.

Sorry, I’m not sure I understand what you’re suggesting.
The crash happens when I try to do find/replace at the site level, at the page level, at the item level, and even when I’m actually inside of a text box. Is that what you mean?
I’m very new to this so apologize for my terminology and/or any misunderstanding.
Using freeway pro 6.1.2 and the Find Replace doesn’t seem to be working. My site is rather large, over 70 pages. I tired searching just the “story” when I can see the word on screen and freeway tells me it can’t find it. When using Find/Replace for the document, it takes a very long time and says it can’t find it. Site is all in English no special characters.
I’ve had some turn over in staff and want to find replace their names with the new people. A working Find/Replace would be greatly appreciated.
I have one site with many part numbers, and use search and replace all the
time. It’s slow, seems to search current page first and then subsequent
pages below the current page (site pane sort order)… but works for me. Same
version, 6.1.2.
