[Pro] FLV Player - no loop???

Hi all,

Can someone tell me why the action ‘FLV Player’ doesnt loop the video?

The TextWrangler version of the page shows the code for a movie as:

FW_WriteObject(“Resources/FLVPlayback43.swf”, “208”, “170”, “”, “false”, “flash”, “”, “”, “loop”, “true”, “play”, “true”, “quality”, “autohigh”, “wmode”,“transparent”, “FlashVars”, “poster=LITERALFREEvocab%20208x160-poster.jpg&videopath=LITERALFREEvocab%20208x160.flv&autoplay=true&skinpath=webstroika_thin.swf”, “allowfullscreen”, “true”);

How come no loop?

Thanks

Hi GT,

Flash video is a funny beast. It works by having a regular Flash SWF that contains something that controls the movie, the SWF itself (the thing that’s being told to loop in your code) just houses this controller so telling it to loop doesn’t carry across to the movie controller (nice huh?). I’ll log a suggestion to add looping to the Action. Bear in mind, it’s not as simple as just adding a flag like in the code posted below, unfortunately.

If you need this functionality immediately then you might want to try one of the fully fledged Flash players such as FlowPlayer or JWPlayer. I notice you were involved in the JWPlayer thread, did that not work out for you?

Hi Joe,

Yes i did post about the JWPlayer but I don’t have the know how to follow up suggestions. Any advice/instructions I am given need to be explicit about what to do.

I would like to try JWPlayer as it has HTML5 option also. I have put the files onto the server but I am then stuck with how to use it on my movie files.

If you can give me steps to follow which dont assume too much … :slight_smile:

Thanks

Hi GT,

The best thing to do is to send what you have in to our Support Team, who will be happy to look at it and help. You can email them directly using support(a)softpress.com.

Cheers!
