[Pro] font display FW 6.1 vs FW 7 Retina Display

Hi All,

Just got a pretty new Macbook pro with Retina display only to find out some programs appear fuzzy font as they were not originally written for optimal display on retina like the MBR. One example is Adobe Acrobat X. Now it seems I have to buy a whole new version of Adobe because of this.

it seems my FW 6.1 is like this too.
Does anyone know on a Retina Display mac of FW 7 is now looking good or still fuzzy?

Any info would be great.

Thank you.

Barry

I am using a 5K iMac and neither FWP 6 or 7 has any fuzzies.

On my rMBP, FW7 is fuzzy, just like FW6. No improvement there. :frowning:

Thanks Caleb,

I found this out AFTER
-My adobe acrobat pro was fuzzy
which was after I found out I had no more ethernet port ($30 for an adapter)

and the worst was realizing no more security slot for a lock…

Amazing how they would get rid of the very thing that keeps you from losing your entire laptop.

I never had a bad thought of Apple until now. People are right…

Probably not Retina-native in that case. How about an app that you know will be built for a Retina display? Try TextEdit or System Preferences to start with.

I know this sounds harsh, but you should always (1) look through the specs for any computer you’re going to buy, and (2) see what cheaper options there are on places such as Amazon.

I take your point, but I can count the number of times I’ve seen that used ‘in the wild’ on the fingers of my elbow. Which is, I’m sure, the reason why Apple didn’t want to try and fit a tough-enough socket in the side of its ever-slimmer laptop chassis.

HI,

I researched for anyone that cares, Adobe Acrobat Pro X was not created for Retina and will therefore look fuzzy with fonts, but starting with XI (the update) it is crystal clear.

As far as the specs, I really thought a late 2014 MBP was going to be identical to a 2010 MBP. I have learned. It probably would not have swayed me away as my 2010 was so going by the moment and I am lucky I got out of it when I did.

As far as the security, for me it was important and I see your point, but if you go online you will see there are thousands who use them at work, business, trade shows, presentations, etc who now cannot really walk away for a second as they used to, without worrying their whole system may be gone (and it does happen more and more). There are alternatives for security but not as good.

just a little overwhelming after first getting it.
