Hi All
HTML fonts look terrible on a PC running Chrome, Opera or Firefox. IE 8 looks Ok with in general .
I’m using Verdana as the default font.
Any suggestions?

HI Dave
I’m not to too keen on placing the web address on here as this shows up on a google search result!
A workaround …

You dont need to post it as a full url - be cryptic.

Hi Dave,
this discussion:
http://www.theverge.com/2011/11/1/2529326/fonts-look-awful-when-no-cleartype-is-used-chrome
is not really helpful, but it describes precisely the problem I encountered in the past, too.
Cheers

HI Dave I’ve had a look at he link you sent above, seems the solution needs to be done in within Freeway at the site design stage since PC’s will defat to its standard view settings.
I’ve turned Cleartype within the (PC Win XP SP3) but with very little difference to the result. I’m using Parallels Desktop to view the site in Windows.
Even some fonts on Apples site don’t look as good on a PC! What would be the best solution to this problem?
For example pages of concern are here:

I dont think that your body text looks any better or worse than any other site viewed on a PC.
If you really want some control over typeface then why not look at one of the embedded font technologies ie @fontface , googlefonts or the WebFonts or Caxton actions.

I agree. Lately I use Google Webfonts and so far they look good on all browsers and platforms.
The integration with Freeway is really simple too.
