[Pro] FP5.4.3 Pro & Snow Leopard

Hi everyone. I was using FP5.0.2 on my iMac running 10.4.9 which then died. I’m now using a Macbook pro running 10.6.4. I can’t open any of my sites to edit them. When I double click on the icon in Finder, it acts like it’s about to load, but does nothing, or if FP is closed, it opens it, but not the file. When I’m in FP and try to open the files, they are ‘greyed out’, except for a very early version, probably created in FP Express 2 or 3. Any suggestions would be extremely gratefully received.

Hi Jack,

It’s possible it’s just taking a while to open the files though it sounds a little like they might be corrupt. Do you have any backups? Was it your last machine’s hard disk that died?

Hi Joe,

Thanks for responding.

It was the power supply (I hope) that failed on my iMac. The files I¹m
using are back-up files/copies of the original, and to all intents they
appear to be fine, in that they appear okay in the Finder, and I can Œget
info¹ okay, and I see small representations of them in proview. It¹s just FP
that won¹t Œsee¹ them.

Kind Regards

Could you download the following application: Quick Change - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download

Open it up, drag a Freeway file onto it and make sure the following values are entered into the Type and Creator fileds:

Type: LS3D
Creator: WAY

If they aren’t then add them and see if they open then. If not, could you send the smallest one over to our support team (support[a]softpress.com) and they’ll take a look for you.

Many thanks,

Joe
