[Pro] Freeway folder sharing

I have two computers with Freeway on them. Is there a way to synch the two and have the Freeway folder on each so that both will be updated when changes are made?

If Dropbox is the only solution, reading other posts on this subject, please do a step by step. I’m would be the only user in this case.

This is what I would do:

  1. Open up the Freeway file on the computer that it is on currently.
  2. In the “File” menu, choose “Save Archive”.
  3. In the resulting dialogs, name the archive and save it to your Dropbox folder.

When you save an archive, Freeway will copy the website file and all the resources referenced in the website to the archive folder, thus ensuring that all the needed resources are where Freeway can find them across the different computers.

Hi
if you want to edit a freeway document on two or more different macs then yes it can be done via drop box

  1. make sure you have drop box running on both machines with either the same account or via a shared dropbox folder
  2. now create a new freeway document and save it in the dropbox folder now the important thing
  3. move all your supporting media which you are going to use in your freeway document into the drop box folder and import them from there and NOT from anywhere else on your mac
  4. Create a site folder in the dropbox folder and publish to that
  5. open up the same synced freeway document on another mac and you should see all the files that are used in the freeway document still should be linked

Summary: you need to build, save and publish inside the dropbox folder and more importantly you need to import anything into the freeway document only if the original resides in the drop box folder. Normally I set up a media folder which contains everything I want to import into the freeway file, a site folder to publish to and of course the freeway document.

all the best max

ps this is also how you would set up the same structure (except it would be a shared folder) if you wanted more than 1 person working on a project without archiving and passing it over.
