[Pro] Freeway quitting

FW pro 5.1.2
Hello all, just updating a website at the moment (only copy changes) but the Freeway document seems to have lost it’s links to the majority of the pictures.

Whenever I go to Edit>Resources>(find a missing picture)Edit>Locate the programme hangs for a few seconds and then quits. I’ve restarted Freeway and the Mac, but still the same, any ideas?

thanks
Trev

Hi Trev
I’m not much help here:
I cant recall how I got out of this but I had it also.
I meet all sorts of quirks and usually try any ‘workaround’ I can think of,
so that I can continue the workflow.
So what else could I have done?
Maybe I tried updating from a double clicked image instead of via edit
Resources? Dropped the image file into the appropriate Freeway image box?
Saved a copy of the Freeway document and tried again?
I just cant recall. Sorry.
Freeway is an application I depend on but is also the most flaky in terms of
suddenly disappearing of all the apps I use.
all the best
Brian

FEATURE REQUEST
It would be great if Freeway offered an option to use a designated or
created ‘Media folder’ set up where it added a copy of the original if not
already in such a designated Media folder and always searched such a
designated folder if an item was missing - and alerted if so.
If the Media folder itself was missing it could ask to be re linked to the
new location.

There would be some need to be able to make exceptions - ie if you had a
whole load of large files that you didn’t want duplicated on your drive.

Thanks Brian, still not having much success - I don’t much fancy
reimporting and then relinking all of the pics.

Hi Trevor,

Have you tried updating to the most recent version of Freeway (5.3.2)?

Ah, no - didn’t know there was a new one.
Now then, if only I can find my registration number…

Downloaded the new version, went to update the pictures, clicked
Locate and got the spinning wheel for 5 seconds or so before it
crashed again.

Hi Trev,

This could be a couple of things.

Firstly: are you using any Actions that reference images? If so, try
reselecting them from the Actions rather than the edit dialog.

Secondly: Look down the list of images in the Resources dialog and
click Show on the missing ones, reimport the images into the items
manually.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Joe, unfortunately either option still means manually importing
a lot of pictures!

Hi Trev,

I think we’re going to need to see your file, could you send it in to
support(a)softpress.com please. If it’s a large file (larger than 10MB
then could you send it through a sending service such as http://senduit.com
or http://www.megaupload.com please)

Many thanks,

Joe
