[Pro] FreewayPro 5.6.5 (not able to uplaoad)

Hello… I am updating my web page in FWP 5.6.5 and it is not allowing me to upload my web page revisions. I tested out my new web page in FireFox via Freeway and everything was fine. All links ect. were fine.

Then, when I tried to upload to my server it stopped with an “Upload Warning”…Can not complete because an operation timed out. {500 ‘EPRT {1} 67.185.202.172 {59732}’. command not understood} (-26372:625:1214)

Any help here… I need to get this uploaded as soon as possible.

Thank You!

If you used FTP and got that failure, try SFTP with Port 22 and/or FTPS with port 21. Also, can you connect to your webspace via an FTP client like Transmit? If not, then the problem lies outside Freeway.

I too have failed to upload with 5.6.5 in the past, and sometimes switching to a different protocol fixes it. Other times I need to relaunch Freeway. And in rare cases I fix the problem by restarting. Resetting your router wouldn’t hurt either.

Thanks JDW… but finally what it took was setting the FTP mode from NON-Passive to PASSIVE in the upload dialog. That was all it took.

I did go in with Fetch before hand and remove all of my pre-existing files to my old web page first on the server then up loaded the new version of my web site with the above settings.

Thanks!

So you didn’t have it set to “Automatic” when you had the problem? I normally keep it on Automatic. Freeway can then use Passive most of the time and fall-back to Non-Passive when connectivity issues arise. But if Non-Passive works well for you, go with that!

Glad to hear it was resolved.

finally what it took was setting the FTP mode from NON-Passive to PASSIVE in the upload dialog.

And sometimes the reverse is true ie toggling from Passive to Non-passive - it depends on your starting point.

If an upload by Freeway won’t work occasionally, just ‘Publish’ the FWsite
and try Drag & Drop the files from your hard disk Site folder to your also
open Server window maually.
