[Pro] FW 5.5 Pro stopped working

Beg of aug I ordered and paid what I believe was FW 5.5. Registered, run, developed, learned, enjoyed myself. Nice. Yesterday, bang, I got a dialog telling me I was running the trial version… The only choice was to buy. Weird!

As I though I already bought 5.5, I tried to re-register, it failed.

I re-installed from the DVD, and I got… downgraded to 5.4.2. I updated to the net freely available 5.4.3. I would have had to pay 49 usd to upgrade to 5.5, but who would I do such a thing since I already paid for it?

5.4.3 runs fine but I CANNOT OPEN MY OLDER PROJECTS, which are not upward compatible…

Needless to say I am not very happy. Loosing a license in the middle of development is very, very, very annoying. My feeling right now is the following: Softpress effort to protect its products from misuse is exaggerated, since it prevents me, a paying customer, to use what he thought was legally acquired.

Should I pay the extra 49 usd? I feel slighly abused if I have… Or did I miss a fine print somewhere?

I did contacted support prior to post. They efficiently answered me within 2 hours, even on a saturday… Great! Many tx to R! I hope this can be useful to someone else possibly meeting the same problem. Here is part of SP support answer:

It seems LIMug had the wrong links and you were sent to buy Freeway 5
(not 5.5).

The simple solution is for me to send you a 5.5 serial (below). Please
don’t use the 5 serial and remove andy record of it.
