[Pro] FW6 running slow on master pages

If I make a change to a masterpage and for example touched the enter key, the coloured beachball appears and I have to wait until the cursor comes back again. This process is taking way too long and is very annoying. I allready tried restoring permissions.
Softpress is allready looking into an issue with the clearfix action. Could this same action be causing this slowness?

Actions only run during the publish process, or sometimes while you are adjusting the controls in the Actions palette itself. They never do anything at all while you are editing text or graphics.

Walt, I understand. Is there someone else or from softpress who knows why this is happening?

I have had issues using more than 1 (several) CSS menus on the same page.

Not sure if you are or not?

I do have two css menus on the same page. But… they are there since just more than a week and I had the problem before that too.

Well to rule it out why not remove one meantime and see if it helps.

I have the same problem. FW6 and Inline.

Any change to a Master page takes ages to take effect. If i have to make several changes to the menu, for instance, it’s now ease to change it on a regular page and substitute that into the Master.

Any help?

Wild guess. Probably not your problem, but I’ll throw it out there anyway, just in case.

In Fwy 6 Express I was having huge problems with slowness. It turns out that I had accumulated nearly 800 styles over the years using Express (in which you cannot edit styles, as you can in Pro).

I switched to 6 Pro and edited it down to just 27 permanent styles, and the same Freeway file is running quite fast again.

Thanks Jim, no not styles, they’re under control. Plus I get the occasional crash when deleting a master item.
