Thanks all. The penny has finally dropped through this thickened old skull.

(FWIW, I hadn’t used the Styles Window, so wasn’t understanding that different styles could be applied to a single text object. I assumed that selecting a different font/size/style in the Inspector would override anything else. I was also applying 2 weights in the Font Styles extended attributes, which doesn’t look like a good idea either. Simplifying everything down and making separate sets for Regular and Light seems like the easiest way. Couple all this with the added complexity of screen fonts/published fonts and I think the system is extremely confusing. A simpler method would be WYSIWYG. What I see on my FW page, is what is reflected on the web. I would have thought that tying google fonts into this would not be hard. As long as the font has been downloaded into the Mac, then it should be straightforward to add the necessary code into the HTML, especially if google fonts were handled entirely from within FW.)
