[Pro] FWP 6-Use Master Content/Setting?

Does anyone know what these two checkboxes mean?

Also, why am I unable to check the Master Setting box on some of my pages? If I click the Use Master Setting checkbox, it applies the Master Setting, but the box won’t stay checked.

A detailed explanation please, as in:

Use Master Content: What counts as “content”? …Is it anything I type into a
box? …Is it anything I put into a box (images, form elements, other boxes)?

Use Master Settings: Which settings? …Settings on boxes? …Overall Page
Settings? …Styles applied to content?

Yes, very confusing. Plus, I noticed that every item within my page has these settings. Seems like a lot of stuff to keep track of.

Or, a lot more control over the things you have :slight_smile:

I think their heart is in the right place, they just forget that this is
our first experience with something they’ve worked on for years and no
doubt know like the back of their hands. They probably have white papers on
their terminology choices and workflow paradigms hidden in their vaults.

raven- did you ever find out why the use master settings box will NOT stay checked? Some of mine on 1 page I just cannot check. The check appears and dissappears.

i think I got it. the NAME of the item had to be the same as the master (i.e. item7). somehow it got changed and that is why the check mark would not stay!!

Barry, glad you figured it out.

FWIW, initially I had problems with FP masters, but as my understanding of the master pages technology/terminology improved and Softpress fixed a few bugs, everything seems to be fine now.
