[Pro] Gallery or Scriptylighbox

The single advantage to ScriptyLightbox is that it loads the large
images using Ajax (lazy-loading) so you don’t have a massive whack at
your server and bandwidth when the page initially loads. Only the
thumbnails that get clicked will trigger a download of the large image
version. ScriptyLightbox is based on Lightwindow2, which actually
offers a whole lot more functionality than I exposed in this first
version of SL. The previous/next navigation buttons are not there,
likewise the captioning controls. Once I get around to writing a
second Action to go with the main SL, I can address some of those
shortcomings. The other Actions do a much better job on those fronts
as far as I know.

Hi for loading images in a gallery which is the faster/better
previewing of images, Paul Dunnings Gallery (full version) or the
Scriptylightbox or even the Slimbox (prefer not Slimbox)…

Currently designing gallery and thinking ahead which one loads
better and faster.

thanks

I am not sure. I presume so, but I didn’t write it and haven’t used
it. You might want to check it out, also be sure to check if Weaver
has updated it to play nicely with Prototype, as many of the other
Actions rely on that library, which conflicts with MooTools, and the
original Slimbox used Moo if I recall correctly.

Thanks Walter, perfect. Lazyloading is it for me. Will use your
Scriptylightbox Action for the gallery as the client only wants each
image zoomed up on… per selection.

Does the Slimbox use lazyloading at all?
