[Pro] Gallery with rollover and fading pictures

I want a photogallery with ONE target-layer or -image and different thumbnails.
When moving over one thumbnail-image a bigger sized equivalent image should appear in the target-image (or -layer), not just simply popping up, but fading in. When moving over another thumbnail-image, a new picture has to fade in the target frame where the previous image was displayed.
How do I do this. I tried several things, but it did not work out the way I want it to do.

Hi Jan

Several thumbnails with rollover action applied to each. Indigo 1, 2, 3 etc…

Target show/hide layer action applied to larger stacked images (corresponding target group and #) with effect set to fade.

I already tried this procedure?! The only thing I might have done wrong is, that I did not group the larger stack of images. Do I have to?
