Anyone using the Wordpress Genesis framework?
I’ve been researching frameworks over the past few days and this seems to be the best one out there, although their templates seem to rather bland to me. I would interested in getting your perspective on Genesis and why you chose it over other Wordpress frameworks?

I have tried it and the problem with it is WP.
Once I started noticing the limitations of FW, I started looking at a multitude of other options and finally settled on just learning to code. I started with http://www.codecademy.com and mixed with what I have learned from using FW it all came together. I tried Bootstrap, Foundation and a few others. Right now I like to keep it simple and I just use Kube as my framework http://imperavi.com Kube is also used as the base for the Pulse template.

What about security issues? I read that security, and to a large extent-compliance, were two of the primary reasons developers tend to favor Wordpress and the Genesis framework.
I will say that once I started to research this topic I was surprised by how many framework solutions are out there and the fact, than unlike Adobe, there doesn’t appear to be a clear cut winner in this arena—save maybe StudioPress.
I was a little disappointed in how generic many of the StudioPress themes were, but maybe that’s because they rely on Widgets to provide much of their really cool functionality, which is a concept I’m still trying to grasp.
I was also disappointed with Wordpress on how poorly it worked with mobile devices. In many of the demo sites I tried the menu didn’t seem to work well and the overall look and feel just seemed incomplete. Quite frankly, some of the responsive sites I’ve seen built with FWP seem to be faster and more fluid.
Another option I’ve discussed with Justin Easthall is RapidWeaver, Stacks, and Foundation, which seems to work the same as Wordpress Widgets and it’s more visual. I can tell you that Justin is totally sold on that workflow.
