[Pro] Getting more and more perplexed, HELP!

Can someone be so kind as to help a novice?

I’m using Freeway Pro 5.5, and am getting around this excellent software rather well. However, I’m having one or two problems with hosting the site.

Having research numerous web-site hosts I decided to plunge for Fatcow, of which I have found to be very good. However I have purchased numerous domains and would like to do the following…

I would like to upload my Freeway site to each domain so the URL’s display as following…

Examples.

www.red.com/index
www.red.com/about

When I upload the site to Fatcow everything works perfectly, however when uploading another site it replace the old uploaded web-site with the new one.

To try and resolve this issue I was advised to create a directory for each domain example. /red for www.red.com and /blue for www.blue.com

This works fine, however the domain displays as following…

www.red.com/red/index
www.red.com/red/about
www.red.com/red/products

So my question is, how do I upload numerous web-sites with different URL’s which display correctly

I understand that is probably a simple or obvious question to you guys, but Im simply baffled…

If someone can be so kind as to point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time, understanding and patients.

Hi Paul,
On my web server (admittedly not with FatCow) I have access to cPanel
where I can add extra domains to the server and treat these as
separate sites.

Your root account domain will be red.com and the red site will live in
there. Now using the cPanel you can add an add-on domain for blue.com
and map this to a folder on the server also called blue.com.

When someone enters www.blue.com in their browser the site stored in
this folder is served and the user is unaware that the two sites live
shoulder to shoulder on the same server account.
Speak with FatCow and see if they can help you set this up.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Paul,
Digging a little deeper I can see that FatCow has something similar to
my cPanel solution but they call it a slightly different name.

In the main control panel select "Domain Pointing Manager’ and look at
the foot of this screen.

In the section marked ‘Point Other Domains to Account’ add your second
(pre-registered) domain name and map this to a directory (folder) on
your server where you want to store this site’s files.
Make sure you follow the instructions in this section and point the
domain name to your FatCow server (by changing the name servers) and
once completed the domain should resolve to this directory in your
FatCow account space.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Tim.
