[Pro] Google analytics page rank

Hi all,

I have a site I have built http://zyzag(dot)com

I recentley updated the site at the end of Oct 2012, since then the analytics results have dropped way too much???

Looking at the stats I can only assume that their is an issue with the site, or that I have done somethign wrong somewhere along the way…

If i try & search it in google the .index page doesnt even appear in the search’s, other pages appear… but the .index page seems to have really hit the floor, which is not very good at all!!!

Can anyone lend some advice or help please as to how to proceed if indeed there is an issue!

Many thanks

Have the other pages that appear in the search results been around longer than the website?

I do consider myself a little knowledgable on the subject but not an industry expert… Heres a few things I would do if I was to improve

Test the page speed here:

The background image look’s like it could be a big file? Optimise better

Make the page titles more understandable for Google/users
same for file name

The NAV bar I would use text not images

Use text instead of images - whenever you can

then wait a month… see what happens…

Text, text and more text.

And make sure it is relevant to the page content.

Look at your page with images Disabled and read the text. Does it make sense. Can you tell what the site is about from it.

And also post a proper link to your site here - that is worth loads of SEO brownie points.

Wil ‘this’ page not then jump up in the google rankings, possibly above the index page itself?

Just dont want to have a page hightlighting issues on my site in the top searches in google! Will this happen?

Mr. Worm,

Google rankings are partly dependent on the number of and the quality of
incoming links. So the more sites out there that have links to your site,
the higher your google rankings will be. You also need text ( not graphics)
pertinent to your content, for the robots to have anything to find.
And yes, links from forums can turn up in google search queries. I’ve
personally seen this from having links on the iWeb user forum. Usually the
results are pretty far down the list of returns. But if you have less text
content on your site than the forums do, the result could be higher than
your site. Have you submitted a site map to Google? If not, do so.

Sincerely,

David
