Anyone tips how to change Google Maps
from color to black and white?

  1. Draw a Google Maps Action

  2. Open up the Advanced Options section

  3. Click the Extended Options button

  4. Paste the following in the field that appears:

    styles: [ { “stylers”: [ { “saturation”: -100 }, { “lightness”: -8 }, { “gamma”: 1.18 } ] } ]

  5. Ok the dialog

  6. Preview in a browser

You’ll need to hide the Street View guy if you want everything to be black and white – I don’t think you can change the color of him.

At some point the dumb quotes in the code Joe supplied got converted into curly quotes which is now upsetting the Google Maps script. Change the curly quotes for straight ones and you should be OK;

Looks like the web interface has smartened the quotes. Can you follow the same steps but this time instead of adding the code, replace curly quotes with straight ones.

I don’t have links, but Google allows a lot of customization to maps. Maybe
not as much as you want, but I know there are several map styles to choose
from, possibly BW or at least toned down. I had recently done some custom
work for someone and I used Google’s online map tools to do it.

I don’t think the Action is where you should go to with this - this is an
advanced request requiring that you work with Google directly. Googling
“google custom maps” is where I found my way into the map tools, probably
part of their Webmaster stuff. As I said, this is an advanced solution
working outside of Freeway Pro, so be prepared for it.
