Understood - or better said:
I have honestly no clue!
To my understanding, it is a backend-image (such as a favicon kind) which is only served for the purpose of “Use this if …”
So the designer would prepare it as
sd-logo-james-150x150.jpg
while the action - preferably has a upload to resources possibility including all the other required registries.
Without the action, place it elsewhere and point to it by the correct path?
I know, I know - this is naive , but the way I am.
