Where is the Attention FX action stored, and how can I hack it so it will give me a separate Flash Duration and Speed?
Right now Attention FX gives only a Duration field, which sets the Duration of the Flash and the Speed of the flashing. I don’t like that at all because I want to flash the items for a certain period of time. I am unable to achieve that now.
Note on my example web page that the leftmost and rightmost sides flash at the rate I want, but the duration is too short. However, there is no way to use the existing action to length the duration at that flash rate.
I think those actions are part of the Freeway package (Freeway program icon (ctrl+click) → show (package)content). But I would bet a lot that this action is cryptic in order to prevent them from any manipulation.
I’m currently not sure what kind of flashing you mean but what about another js library (script) that probably matches your needs?
If you click the link in my sample page, you can see a box at left that his its left and right sides flashing red on/off for a couple seconds. I want to maintain that flash rate but extend the flash duration. Such is impossible in the existing Attention FX action. But I like Attention FX because it triggers the flashing On Page Load, but after a delay I specify. I specified a start delay of 1 second.
It’s not encrypted in any way, but it is cryptic! The Action in question begins on line 466 of that file. However (and I’ve read through it twice) I don’t think you’re going to find an easy way to customize this. The Action is written with a core library that generates the same effect function for all of the different effect types. Pulses is unique to the Pulsate effect, and not shared by Shake or Highlight. The core function-generating code presents only the options common to all of these effects, so duration is your only option that they share.

Walter I want separate adjustments for (1) the number of pulses and (2) the duration of those pulses. We don’t have that now, which is why I inquired about hacking the Action.
