Several years ago, I bought one of those handy little digital cameras… nothing fancy, just decent. And compact. I can slip it in my pocket almost everywhere I go, and photograph whatever catches my eye.

A few weeks back it was an asphalt driveway that caught my eye. A few snaps and I had some raw material to create a nice background pattern. Available in five different shades, you can see them used in this page I made on how Freeway Pro handles image filenames for different uses.

They look nice! Love the name, too.

I never had a digital camera, but back when I puttered in 3D animation, I was always on the lookout for interesting patterns to use for character textures.

Lots of neat stuff around if you keep your eyes open.
