[Pro] Have Host Email Problems

Anyone else with a Have Host server experiencing problems with sending and receiving email today?

I and at least one of my clients (that I know of) are having problems. Raised a support ticket nearly 5 hours ago, but no contact or resolution yet.

Yes, sadly. I understand Have Host has been contacted and hopefully
we’ll all be back up and running soon.

Would be nice to know when! My client is going crazy over all the perceived business he may be losing. Not good.

Heather, I would be interested to know how you know that Have Host know about the problem?

I have raised a support ticket, emailed James Wilkinson at a couple of the addresses I have for him and just called his number in Quebec which went to answerphone.

If there is an ongoing problem I would like to know that James is aware of it and how long it is going to take to put right, so that I can pass the info along to my clients.

Doesn’t look very professional when you have to tell your client that you know there is a problem, but you have no idea when it will be solved.

Seriously considering moving my sites from Have Host now. I notice Dzyn Lab are no longer trading. Makes me wonder if Have Host are destined for the same fate.

A couple of other Freewayers I know are friends of mine on Facebook,
both coincidentally use Have Host as providers, and both reported
email being down. One had raised the issue with James via his gmail
address.

I’m not sure when it’s going to be resolved. It may have to wait until
I get back into the office tomorrow.

Hello! We are now working on the email issue… I do not know what happened - but I’ll get this resolved ASAP and determine what exactly it was to put into place a protocol to potentially deal with this if it occurs again. More info to come.

Here in Canada the mail servers have been up and running for at least
the last 4/5 hours. Maybe I am receiving some late freeway posts but for
me and my clients all is right again.

Hello!

The email servers should now be working for all… Honestly, I do not
have a clear answer as of yet for you… One issue that was brought up
was the server’s utilization of IMAP and that the current application
being used might not be servicing my clients as well as expected…
Given that most of you have a mac, an iPhone and a book - all synching
to the same account on the server - almost all at the same time - this
can cause the server to get down right pissy and might account for the
bog down… Not positive but I am investigating further and will send
an email with explanation through the Support area of Have Host.

If anyone is not up and running, email me at havehost [at] gmail [dot]
com and I will work to resolve your issue immediately.
