I’ve had Preview on Hover on 10-12 photos on this page in Freeway 5.5 for years, but now those same settings are not working in FW6. Anyone know if I need to update the Page markup code there? Here’s what I’ve been using (before ):
The rest was done in the hyperlink panel and is intact. The images are still where they should be in my site folders.
The affected photos are all those of someone holding a caricature drawing. I see a little blue ball in the corner of each in my FW6 file. It clearly relates in some way but I’m not sure what that means.
I’m also noticing that most of the URLs on the site now have
#.UqnkH42bSEI after the .html part. Could that have any bearing here? I have no idea what that is.
How did you apply the original hyperlinks to the images - for some reason FW has created Map Areas for each image.
I would redo each link by removing the existing ones and instead just select each image in turn and Cmd+K to add in the code again. ie the Alt Text and the class: preview
Make the page output More Readable would also help us to see what is going on.
The original hyperlinks were created with Cmd+K, and I just removed and recreated a couple the same way again, but to no avail after upload. As before, clicking on the photos brings a new image in a new window but not the hover preview on the same page I’m after.
Not sure what you mean by a map area or if FW6 generated it where 5.6 didn’t but I’m still stuck. How would I make the page output more readable? I’m confused on that as well but will try if it may help reveal the problem.
‘Draw’ an empty graphic container on top of one of your images you want to have the preview effect on. Apply the link to it using Cmd+K. Presumably you are using the Extended section of the Hyperlink dialogue to add the class:preview?
i just opened an earlier version of the file in 5.6 and it doesn’t indicate the map areas that 6 does, so I guess it gets interpreted as such by 6. No blue bubbles are on the pix in 5.6.
Ugh – I still get the blue map area bubble appearing in my FW file as soon as I create the link for a photo. Remove the link and it disappears from the photo.
To avoid any issues from the original page, this is on a new page I created with all my planned H-on-P pix re-created from scratch. I’ve only tried it on one image (second one in the top row) for now: http://bringyourface.com/newpixpage.html#.Uq6TbWRDuv2
Not knowing much about code, I’m wondering if it matters that my site was created in HTML 4.01 Transitional. Should it be changed to HTML 5 or XHTML 5 for a better result? I did select More Readable for this and the previous page. The rest of the site is set on More Efficient.
FYI, to retrace my steps, I’ve used tooltip 02’s jquery.js and main.js files and external js action to put them into the Resources folder before/HEAD.
I’ve also re-used the original styling in Page>HTML Markup that is pasted above in this discussion. And I used Cmd+K to make the link + class: preview in Extended, as on my previous page.
I’m not sure what you meant for me to do with that. Did you want me to create a new FW6 doc with the elements you sent me? Of the three items in the archive, only one had any data (Media folder had the two js files and two of my photos). ForJoe was blank and Site Folder was empty.
