[Pro] how can I (easy Q)

Hi,

I need to find out the exact FILE NAME on my computer for about 25 graphics on my website. If I click on the graphic and I look at the Name/ID that might not be the file name. I could have changed this in FW.

is there a way to find the exact file name on my computer that matches the graphic used on the website? The reason is I need to alter these original graphics and I have so many versions that I want to work on the one that is currently being used on the site.

Thanks,

Barry

Barry,

Double-click on the graphic item and a dialog should appear that will give you the filename.

Derp. You’re using pass-through images which show that alternate (and very unhelpful) dialog. You should still be able to find out what graphic it is by opening the website in your browser and dragging the image to your desktop. Because Freeway doesn’t alter the file at all for pass-throughs, it should still have the same filename.

Caleb, that was not a pass through graphic at all.

also dragging to desktop just gives it a name like item3 or another one I tried said item5b

not as easy as you might think.

Huh. The only time I see the unhelpful dialog is when it’s a pass-through.

The only other thing I can think of is to find it via the Edit > Resources dialog. You can use the “Show” button to reveal where in the document a resource is being used.

With a little work that will actually do it. In edit resources, is the original file names, so I pretty much think I know them and clicking show will just confirm.

Thanks again!
