[Pro] How is this done?

I’ve been asked to redesign this site http://www.beanrunnercafe.com/

On the site are concert listings that look like they are pulled from another site. The items pulled are just those that pertain to this cafe. Since I’m a novice at coding and don’t really know much about php, can someone explain to me how this is done and how only the pertinent content is pulled in?

Since they don’t like the blocky type or the static images, is there a way for me to pull in the info I want and have it restyled to the look I want. Or am I better off creating some type of design and using something like WebYep to let them update their concert listings.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Jeff

They “suck” it in from: http://hvmusic.com

I saw that. I was at first wondering how they brought in only the music events that pertained to them – I suppose the hvmusic site must give them some sort of filter to first select only those performances and then that page is brought in using the php script you highlighted-- correct?

thanks for your response.

Jeff

actually you could copy the script and use it again exactly as it is. I think this would be an easy way. Tie it in as an markup element.

Or use an iframe…

Thank Tom

They wanted an improved look to the the music listings, so not sure pulling listings in as they are will work, or into an iFrame, unless there’s a way to restyle items brought into an iFrame.

May original thought was to set up a new look for the listings and use a CMS editor WebYep so that they can make daily or weekly changes. Unless you have some other suggestions.
