[Pro] How To Create a Layered Modal Window

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could please take through the procoess or point me to a tutorial for creating a layered window in FW Pro.

Basically want to press a button on the main page which then calls another window, but places/layer’s it on top of the main window.

Also, is it possible to make this layered window modal?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.
Tony.

Target show/hide layers will do this

is it possible to make this layered window modal?

Can you explain what you mean by Modal?

“Can you explain what you mean by Modal?”

Hi David,

By modal I mean that the user cannot return to the main window until they close this layered window sitting on top of the main window.

Hope this makes sense.

If not possible then not really an issue but would like to know how to present a layered window on top of my main window.

Thanks.
Tony.

OK

Well I have just tried this so i know it works

On your main page use Walter’s ScriptyLightbox to open your Screenshots page where the thumbnails will use ScriptyLightbox to open the individual light boxes within that page.

It does work - the action can be found at ScriptyLightbox - ActionsForge

You cannot access the pages behind until you close the lightboxes - in safari at least

You will need to test with other browsers to check. Soory cant post a link to my test page just now as uploading is a problem.

No worries David - thanks for the info.

Will give this a try later on.

Scratch that - it worked locally but when I uploaded it didn’t

Back to the drawing board!

Tonsils, not sure if this is what you are looking for. Weaver’s Moo Tools action does modal boxes.
