[Pro] how to do this...

Hello everyone.

I am in need of advice and / or pointing me in the right direction. I have a whole stack of information on a page with a fair number of links, however what I would like to achieve is when one gets to this page, a pop up window to open with general information. I know how to make pop up windows that are triggered by clicking on a link. This pop up window, however should open automatically without clicking on anything. Is it possible to do this in Freeway? Using version 6.1.2
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

when one gets to this page, a pop up window to open with general information.

Transition FX will do this for you.

Apply the action to your ‘pop-up’ and set the delay on page load to whatever you need ie On Page Load: Appear, Delay 3s, Initially Hidden

Thanks David. Is the action part of Freeway? I don’t seem to be able to find it.

Is the action part of Freeway?

Yes - context sensitive though. Can only be applied to a layered or inflow item.

So you think this additional infos are important for a user?

Well - if, I highly recommend to review your strategy.

Just some reasons:

  1. Annoying (“Keep your mac clean” or “Enlarge your p…”)!

  2. Mainly blocked via browser settings!

  3. Often opened in new tabs (Mobile and PC/Win users) - so therefor even not recognized!

So they mostly break user paradigm and one of the first reason I immediately leave pages like that. All I can say is to review your link organization towards a more user-friendly one.

Content is king - not unwanted advices (however mine here could be seen as unwanted, too - perhaps :-).

Cheers

Thanks Thomas,
I haven’t though of it that way. All I was thinking about is here is a useful piece of information, I want to give you (user) a chance to see it. Hmmmm…
I might rethink this one. Thanks to all again.
