[Pro] How to use GOOGLE API FONTS in FW

I want to clarify how to use Google’s API font directory correctly & apply it with in your FW website.

This will help many people on here I think.

The font I wish to use is:

Sofia-Extralight, 8px, white

Is that enough alone to make sure the font is used on your site? Should I use a CSS style too with my FW file, aswell as define the font in my FW text styles or as close as possible. However, If I apply this to say a H1 style that is naturally bolded can I still ensure I will get the sofia-extralight font.

Whats the best, most robut way to do this in FW?

I look forward to your appreciated replys fellow FWers

Many thanks

Worm

Sofia Extralight is not available from Google Webfonts.

Have a look at this KnowledgeBase article that explains how to use Google Webfonts in your site: Using Google Web Fonts - Freeway - Softpress Talk

If you need to use another method (for example, I think you’d need to buy Sofia Extra Light from somewhere like here: http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/mostardesign/sofia-pro/extra-light/ and use the code they provide) then take a look at Paul Dunning’s Caxton Action: Caxton, or Tim Plumb’s Web fonts Action: http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=034

Hope this helps,

Joe

Besides - using any font at that size has got to be problematic

Thanks Worm for asking. I needed this also. Thanks Joe for answering exactly what I needed to know and for the link to the Softpress KnowledgeBase. I must admit, I never go to the KnowledgeBase, but instead head straight to this FreewayTalk forum. Shame on me. There’s a ton of very useful information in the Knowledge Base very nicely arranged. Thanks much.
