Some html boxes do not position themselves correctly in the browsers as shown in Freeway. It can be 30 - 40 pixels off mark. Consequently I have to guess an approximate position in Freeway to get it correct. When converted to a graphic box everything is ok. Can somebody tell me what is happening and perhaps a remedy? Thanks.
To illustrate my problem visually: If you go to this page: http://www.its-my-body.com/yoga.html
In Firefox and Safari it now shows up correctly (where I want the heading to be viewed in all browsers), while in Opera it shows up exactly where I had to put it in Freeway to get it correct for the former two browsers.
Anybody?
This appears to be happening because of the font you’re using (Adobe Song Std). It isn’t recognised in Opera so is being replaced with the browsers default Serif font (Times), which has much smaller space above the characters (sorry, I don’t know my character anatomy). You can see that the Adobe font you’re using has a particularly large space above the characters by selecting it in Safari - notice the selection is almost twice the height of the font.
I would personally go for a different font altogether though, there are plenty that look similar but don’t have such a distorted character vs height as the one you’re using. Try Baskerville or Garamond, both of which have adequate fallbacks for Windows and Linux as described in the KB article above.
Hope this helps,
Joe
