[Pro] HTML text - transparent background?

Hey all,

Pretty new to web design. Can someone please explain why my HTML text looks like this?

Not quite sure which part you are talking about - is it the text over the logo?

If so then this is NOT HTML text it is graphic text.

Sorry,

the text on the left side of the screen (html text) is causing those weird black bars over my watermark. they also mess with the red box on the right side of the screen. Is it a layer issue or something?

Its not a layer issue because this page was built as a Table Layout.

If you want layers then you need to turn the CSS button on - CSS Layout

The text under the button changes to suit.

This will only apply to items that you create subsequently. If you want to change items to layers you will have to select them and change them in the inspector.

If you go into the View Menu and check HTML layout this will outline the different sections on the page and help you determine where problems like this will arise. ie splitting apart like yours has done. Most noticeable when you resize text.
