[Pro] Hype movie in wrong place

Hi everyone, I’ve tried embedding a Hype animation using both Paul Dunning’s action, and the manual way as described on the Hype site, but in both cases the movie appears in the wrong place.

It’s an inline layout and for the purpose of this, I’ve coloured the box yellow where it should be. In the yellow box I clicked the cursor inside and asked it to place the hype action, which it did, but on publishing and preview, the movie has jumped out of it’s holding box and run down the page. Looks fine on the FW page.

I’ve also tried with and without this enclosing box within the inline layout, and he same thing happened. I thought having the enclosing box might hold it in place, but no.

BTW, I realise the movie is a big heavy to load, I need to go back and optimise the graphics.

Thanks in advance.

And one other thing with this, even though the movie is in the wrong place, it doesn’t show on my iPad or iPhone. I thought Hype was supposed to play on all devices.

Once again, thanks in advance for any pointers in the right direction.

Not sure about why your movie is not showing on iPad but I do see that you are using a psd as a background image

http://www.trevreav.co.uk/SHORESTONE/Movie1.hyperesources/Retirement.psd

That is never going to appear - it should be a web ready format jpeg etc.

Is your page code set as More Readable - if not that might help me to read it better - though it is tricky diagnosing only fromjan iPad.

Thanks for the answer David, yes, all of the lettering pulled into the Hype animation are psd’s (I would have used text within Hype, but couldn’t get the typeface to appear) so I’ll change these to gif or png files, but still completely baffled as to why it’s shifting down the page.

I’m coming to the conclusion that it must be something to do with it being my first attempt at using FW6 and getting the hang of the new measurement/placement settings etc.

Hello everyone, I’ve managed to get this sorted now by inserting the movie with the direct approach, rather than with Paul’s Hype action.

I’m coming back in a moment with a new subject concerning the same page…!

Thanks Dave, I’d love to take the credit, but not my design - just my execution. I’m updating their original site to look VERY similar and replacing their Flash movie with the Hype one.

I have to say that once I got my head around it, Hype is a really useful little addition to the armoury.
