[Pro] Importing/saving in Mavericks

My workflow has been annoyingly lengthened by what I think is a bug in Mavericks but it behaves differently in different programs.

My usual way of placing graphics in FW is to prepare them in photoshop or illustrator first then import them as pass through graphics in FW. For example I may prepare 2 or 3 page or item backgrounds and then try each one to see which works best before finalising. In snow leopard, having imported an image, any subsequent attempt to import would take me back to the last folder used in finder which was nice and quick because all the graphics sat in the same folder.

Now when I try, I get taken back to the top level folder every time which means I have to navigate to my specific folder every time. As a one off, this is not a real problem but after a while it is really frustrating and slows me down considerably.

It also happens with the save as command but only sometimes which leads me to believe it may be a big in Mavericks.

As a comparison, in PS when I try to open subsequent files from the same folder the program takes me to the last folder I opened from which was always the default action for all programs.

Has anyone else noticed this and is there a fix that anyone knows of?

Many thanks

Mark

I Agree, It would be nice to determine a default ‘Media’ folder for each project. If you can assign a folder to publish in, you could assume you should be able to assign a folder to import from.

I’ll second that Richard, if FW had this facility it would get round the idiosyncrasies of the Mavericks OS.
