Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me with something that might be very simple. How do I add keywords to my site?
Also, when I do a Google search for my site it shows up like this: index BBBHEADER. item2.
I would like it to say the name of the site and the description.
Thanks in advance of your help. I really feel like my head is going to explode.
Click New and add the Name/Value pair of ‘Keywords’ and ‘a biglist of the keywords you want’ - do it on your Master(s) to affect all your site pages.
Same for ‘Description’ and ‘a suitable description of my site’
Also on your home page (and others) with nothing selected on your page look in the inspector, first Tab and put a suitable Title into the Title box such as ‘Welcome to my site | The home of wonderful web design’
FW will not alter the file name of your index page but will try to change other pages ie to welcometomys.html but you can change it to something of your choice eg welcome-to-my-site.html Remember you cannot have spaces or strange characters in there. Stick to underscores and hyphens.
I changed that once before and it took my site down. Yahoo told me I couldn’t change “index” to anything else. But I just tried what you said to do and uploaded it and it’s still there, so I guess it worked. Will this change how it looks on Google too? I checked but it’s still the same.

I wasn’t suggesting that you change your index.html page to anything else - just the Title of it! The file name and the Title can be totally different.
But the web browser is always going to be looking for a default named index.html page (or index.htm, index.php and on some servers home.html) so you should always have one of them.
So make sure that your ‘Home’ page has the File Name of index.html
