[Pro] interesting Disqus/FW question...

Hi all-Merry X-Mas,

Does anyone know how I can stop the Disqus from going longer and longer past a certain point down the page as people add messages?

I am putting the disqus commenting ABOVE a special other item on my page. The HTML comment action box (yellow) is 570 pxl high but as more and more messages are added it is going longer and longer down page and running into the item below.

I tried to click on HTML item and put OVERLOW, AUTO hoping scroll bars would show but no luck.

Thanks for this special help,

Barry

try setting #item3, your yellow box, to

 overflow:scroll;

That works in Safari

MAN- bad news. it did not work!!

I checked it on my chromebook and it pushed it down again.

I checked it on CHROME on my mac and it pushed it down.

Only Safari did not.

Back to the drawing board…

Anyone have any advice for not allowing disqus comments to push downward and stay contained in an area I define??

so close…

Barry you seem to have set it to min-height:394px rather than just height:394 .

I don’t see your horizontal scroll problem but try overflow-x:scroll

Simon,

which HTML box should I be doing this to? the outer one or the one inside with the disqus action?

Yes SImon, that fixed it. I set the outer HTML box to FIXED- it was on min for some reason. great thanks.

Now… 1 more major thing, not sure if you or anyone will know this about Disqus.

I just realized I have a major issue.

I have 3 different disqus discussion boards on 3 different pages on my site.
2 of the discussion I need to approve 100% of all posts before they go live BUT the new one I have been working on today, I need all posts to go live without moderation.

I am feeling like this is impossible given disqus system. Seems disqus settings are for all discussions at once.

do you know??

Maybe the answer is to “ADD NEW SITE” on disqus but I am trying to learn what this means before doing.

THANKS.
