Our website would fit perfectly on an iPad screen if only it weren’t for that annoying Safari address bar. Does anyone a) know how to have the bar go away when a page loads, or b) have any experience in making a simple app the sole purpose of which is to display the website outside of Safari?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I did reply already but it hasn’t appeared - yet!
If you just want to show your site (to clients?) on an iPad then Dolphin and Atomic Web both do full screen browsing.
There doesn’t appear to be a reliable method that Mobile Safari supports (on iPad) unless you run it as a bookmark from your Home Screen and include
<meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes" />
