[Pro] "Is the Item a CSS div or an in-flow single celled table"

“Is the Item a CSS div or an in-flow single celled table”

I Have a large HTML item (960 x 1500). Inside this there is another HTML item which will grow as "Graphic"thumbnail items/images are added, these are INLINE graphic items. What has thrown me now is that the graphic items have a tick box in the inspector panel which offers you the option to click CSS Div> or leave as single celled creatures.

Here I am confused. i understand all the concepts of a

box, an inline image and cell tables. But what I fail to understand is how this little option translates into practical/semantic terms? I have inline images, why make them seperate divs? Or how does this affect the overall picture, I fail to grasp this option?

I would appreciate the explanation please.

kind regards
Chris.
