So it goes by trial and error?
Can’t even figure out where to start…

There’s really not that much to the app. Drag a bunch of images from the Finder into the bottom pane, or click the big + in the bottom-left of the frame. Choose one of the themes from the left pane, preview how it will work in the main right pane. When everything is how you like it (sort order, theme options) you choose File / Save to save the Exhibeo document (which is like a Freeway document – i.e. not your actual site, but the thing that builds your site). And then you choose Export / [your desired target format here]. Since you posted this on a Freeway list, I’m guessing you want the Export to Freeway option. This will create a bundle document wherever you specify, which is kind of like an iPhoto or Aperture library, and from there, you use the Action within Freeway to import that bundle into your page, and place it on the page where you want it to appear. In this way, you never have to worry about all the many little files that this system creates and needs. If you are incorporating this into a traditionally-authored HTML site, then you would export to HTML, and follow the directions within that folder (created in that step) to continue the integration.
