[Pro] Is this type of sequencing possible...?

I am relatively new to Freeway and want to run the following sequence of events and am wondering if this is even possible?

The sequence is:

The page loads, 2 seconds later a photo fades in… 1 second later a line of text fades in along with an arrow graphic pointing to an area on the photo… 2 seconds later another line of text fades in with an arrow graphic pointing to a new area on the photo and the first line of text and arrow fades out… 2 seconds later the second line of text and accompanying arrow fade out and a half second later the photo fades out and a new one appears. This same sequence happens again 4 more times with varying amounts of text fading in and out.

Thanks in advance.

Mostly. While it is possible to have an element fade in or out, you can’t do both to the same exact object. You can fake this by stacking opaque objects, such that one fading in causes the next to fade out.

To do precisely what you describe below, I would turn to a dedicated tool like Tumult Hype, which creates a stand-alone timeline-based HTML5 animation (plays anywhere) and then use the Hype Action to add that to your page.

Thanks, Walter.

I just checked out Hype’s tutorial and it’s very cool… now I just need to justify the $50 purchase price. But if using hype to execute my desired sequence is ultimately easier than the first method you mentioned, then my time may be worth the money.

Definitely. There are aspects of your outline that will be extremely difficult to render using only Freeway and the bundled Actions. You could definitely do it with the Protaculous Action, but that’s like another world – involving learning how to code object-oriented JavaScript – and not at all beginner-friendly.

At the moment Adobe’s “Edge Animate 1.0” Html 5 animation tool is free to use. They are giving access to the initial release without paying. my guess is they want to get it into alot of designers hands. You will have to pay for the 2.0 update im sure. I have only been able to play with it for a short time and it reminds me of Livemotion…lol

Thanks for all the replies. I downloaded Hype last night and gave it a go… and I gotta say, it’s pretty awesome!

Thanks again.

Does anyone have any experience using the Hype Freeway Action? I’'ve ben doing some simple test animations with Hype, and while they show up and work fine in preview and browser preview, it does not work when I publish the site. I have everything structured according to the directions here… Using Hype Support

Thanks for any help.

If you can post a link to your example online we can look and see what is going wrong.
