I need to put 2 javascripts on every page of my 20 page site. I used codebuddy on my master page and added the code via txt files. On 5 of the pages I got this black text running along the top of the page. It is not the text of the script. I added 1 script below the head and one just above the /body. Here is the text that shows on the page.

{rtf1ansiansicpg1252cocoartf1038cocoasubrtf360 {fonttblf0fswissfcharset0 Helvetica;} {colortbl;red255green255blue255;} margl1440margr1440vieww9000viewh8400viewkind0 pardtx720tx1440tx2160tx2880tx3600tx4320tx5040tx5760tx6480tx7200tx7920tx8640qlqnaturalpardirnatural f0fs24 cf0 }

These are RTF files, not TXT files, then. Make sure (if you’re using TextEdit to create these) that you switch to Plain Text mode before saving the document. Your best bet is to “invest” in TextWrangler (it’s free) and use it for all your programming text needs. [http://barebones.com](http://barebones.com)

You were right! I thought it was a plain text file but it was a rich text file.

A new issue arose though. I went to preview my site and for the first time the ScriptyLightbox actions (which I have about 20 of) had an error. I used them on some text and that text was not viewable.

I believe there is a conflict between the scriptylightbox javascript and the one I used on the master page. I turned off the codebuddy scripts and still have the lightbox issue.

What version of Freeway are you using? Can you post this live to the net so I can look at it in a JavaScript debugger? Or are you getting the error during publish, and can’t get it to publish cleanly?

I am getting the issue when attempting to publish. It is not online yet. I am using FWpro 5.6.6

Does the site publish, or are you getting an error that stops the publishing process? In other words, does it look bad/error out in a browser on your desktop, or does it not even get that far?

When I try to preview in FW or in a browser it gives me an error message “the following actions will be ignored because of an error” It proceeds so I view the page, but the lightbox actions that are used on text are not there.

They were working before I started using codebuddy.

I will post it in a sub folder. I did notice that I am having issues with the action only when I used it on some text.

When I use it on an image it works fine.

Click on the text Action element, look in the Actions palette, and where you see the “This Action has an error” text, click on the Clear Error button. Publish again, and see if it returns. There are issues with the first generation Scripty Actions that can cause transient errors – particularly if something largish is downloading on your network at the same time that you try to publish.
